John Kumah, Deputy Minister of Finance, has reportedly passed away at the age of 46.

A source close to the family confirmed the demise of the deputy finance minister, who also served as the Member of Parliament for Ejisu in the Ashanti Region, according to a news report by Asaaseradio.

Report says the lawmaker was unwell and responding to treatment.

He died in the early hours of Thursday, March 7, in Germany, where he had been receiving medical treatment for some time.

He leaves behind a legacy as a devoted family man, being survived by his wife, Apostle Mrs. Lilian Kumah, and six children.

Notably, Dr. Kumah served as the inaugural Chief Executive Officer for the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), where he played a crucial role in positioning NEIP as a key player in Ghana’s entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Parliament has suspended its proceedings after the sad news was communicated to the Speaker of Parliament.

Mr John Kumah’s family is yet to officially announce the unfortunate news to the house.
