Ghanaian songstress Sista Afia has revealed that she has been without a serious relationship for the past eight years, not because she is unwilling to commit, but because the man she truly loves does not feel the same way about her.
Speaking in an interview with Delay, the singer admitted that her heart has long been tied to one man, yet the love has not been reciprocated.
“There’s someone I love but he doesn’t love me. You know how funny this world is? Somebody will want me on a silver platter, will pay for everything to be with you,” she lamented.
According to her, she has never openly confessed her feelings to the man, but insists she has shown clear signs of interest. Unfortunately, he has failed to notice or respond. “I mean we’ve been together for a very long time and there are signs I have shown but…I have time for him but he doesn’t have time for me. That is why I say that I love him more than he loves me,” Sista Afia said with emotion.
Despite years of unrequited love, she remains hopeful that one day he will recognise her devotion and take their relationship to the next level.
