The Eastern South Regional Police Command has arrested a 26-year-old Nigerian fugitive wanted for the alleged abduction and murder of a woman and her daughter in Nigeria.
The suspect, identified as Victor Benjamin Fejemirokum, was picked up during an intelligence-led operation at Akyem Wenchi, a suburb of Akwatia, where he had been hiding in the home of a friend.
The arrest was confirmed by the Regional Commander, DCOP George Ohene-Boadi, at a press briefing on Sunday, November 23, 2025.
According to police details, Fejemirokum is the prime suspect in the killing of a female officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and her daughter in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria.
The case drew widespread attention after a viral video emerged alleging that the suspect abducted and murdered the victims before fleeing Nigeria to avoid arrest.
DCOP Ohene-Boadi said the Ghana Police Service is working closely with Nigerian authorities to expedite the suspect’s return to Nigeria to face prosecution.
“The suspect is currently in police custody as frantic efforts are underway to hand him over to the Nigerian authorities,” he said
The Regional Command urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities in their communities, assuring residents of continued operations to combat crime across the region.
“We are treating the public as a matter of urgency to inform the police about any suspicious movement of any person or group of persons in their communities to prevent crime,” he urged.
