Mahama appoints Sam George as minister of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations
President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Samuel Nartey George as Minister-designate of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations.The announcement was made in a press statement issued on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, and signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the acting spokeperson for the President.
The move is part of President Mahama’s efforts to bolster Ghana’s digital infrastructure and position the country as a leader in technological advancements in Africa.

Samuel Nartey George has served as the Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram since 2016, following a historic victory over veteran E.T. Mensah in the party primaries. Known for his bold advocacy and leadership, Sam George is a key figure in Ghanaian politics.
Born in Somanya in January 22, 1985 and raised in Old Ningo, he holds a BSc in Agricultural Engineering from KNUST, an LL.B from the University of London (External), and an MSc in International Strategy and Diplomacy from the London School of Economics.
He also earned an Executive Master’s in Conflict, Peace, and Security from the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre.
Before entering Parliament, he served as an Assistant Director at the Office of the Head of Civil Service and later as a Communications Specialist at the Presidency.
In Parliament, he has served on the Public Accounts and Communications Committees, championing policies on digital innovation, accountability, and social issues.
Sam George is a devout Christian, a member of Perez Chapel International, and a passionate advocate for Ghana’s development.
