Governance analyst Professor Baffour Agyeman-Duah has praised the 12-pillar manifesto of New Force leader Nana Kwame Bediako, calling it a refreshing contribution to Ghana’s political and developmental discourse.

Nana Kwame Bediako, a relatively new figure in Ghanaian politics, launched his political aspirations earlier this year under the New Force banner, with plans to contest the upcoming December 7 presidential election as an independent candidate.

On Sunday, September 1, 2024, Bediako unveiled his manifesto, titled “12 Pillars of Economic Freedom,” which outlines his vision for Ghana should he be elected President.

The manifesto is described by Bediako as a visionary document, presenting a comprehensive plan to bring prosperity, create opportunities, and secure a bright future for all Ghanaians.

Currently, Bediako is awaiting confirmation from the Electoral Commission (EC) to be officially recognised as a qualified candidate for the presidential election, with the New Force movement serving as his platform to garner support.

In an interview on Accra-based Citi FM on Monday, September 2, 2024, Professor Agyeman-Duah remarked, “This is the first time I am hearing some very refreshing ideas about our politics.”

He noted that Bediako’s approach to linking Ghana’s development with that of an African country was particularly refreshing.

The analyst also commended Bediako’s proposal to streamline government by working with only 12 ministries, stating, “For me, I was impressed with his ideas.”
